Tailored Operational Personas
Operational Personas (or "Custom Modes") empower you to build specialized versions of Sypha’s core modes specifically for your team. You also have the flexibility to recalibrate the parameters of Sypha’s default modes. By defining a persona's objective, behavioral constraints, and tool access, you ensure that Sypha integrates perfectly with your internal processes.
For instance, Administrators and Owners can develop Tailored Operational Personas for highly specific requirements, such as a "Technical Writer" mode for documentation or a "Security Auditor" for code reviews.

Creating a Specialized Persona
- Navigate to your Organization/Team Portal → Operational Personas.
- Select Initialize New Persona.
- Choose a preset template if desired (e.g., Agile Architect, Research Assistant, Infrastructure Engineer).
- Configure the following attributes:
| Workspace Field | Operational Context |
|---|---|
| Persona Name | The user-facing label for the mode (e.g., Security Auditor). |
| Internal Identifier | A unique slug for system reference (e.g., security-auditor). |
| Operational Mandate | Define Sypha’s core purpose and tone in this mode. This dictates reasoning patterns. |
| Quick Summary | A concise overview displayed in the mode picker. |
| Activation Context (Optional) | Rules for when this mode is most effective, assisting the Orchestrator's selection. |
| Behavioral Directives (Optional) | Specific guidelines that govern the persona's interactions. |
| Tool Permissions | Designate which capabilities this mode can utilize (Filesystem, Browser, CLI, MCP). |
- Select Save Persona to finalize.
Your new specialized mode will now be accessible within the Operational Personas dashboard.
Managing Your Personas
- Modify: Use the edit function to adjust any configuration or permission setting.
- Deactivate: Use the delete icon to permanently remove a persona from your organization.
